Rolls-Royce has decisively strengthened its relationship with the Indian technology ecosystem, announcing the inauguration of its newly expanded Global Capability and Innovation Centre in Bengaluru. The facility is now officially the company’s largest capability hub worldwide, underscoring India’s strategic importance to the British industrial technology major.
This significant expansion will house key global corporate functions, enterprise services, and engineering and digital teams supporting the entire Rolls-Royce portfolio, including its Civil Aerospace, Defence, and Power Systems businesses. The newly expanded centre, with its 700-seat capacity, is not merely a service delivery unit but is positioned as a critical engine for innovation and excellence. The teams in Bengaluru will play a hands-on role in creating digital solutions with real business impact, leveraging the Rolls-Royce Data Labs digital capability.
The move aligns with Rolls-Royce’s multi-year global transformation strategy to become a high-performing and competitive business. By deepening its technical capabilities in Bengaluru, the company is committing to greater integration of Indian talent into its global operations. Furthermore, the firm has announced plans to double its sourcing from India over the next five years, further incorporating Indian suppliers into its global supply chain. This investment solidifies Bengaluru’s standing as a world-class hub for aerospace, defence, and advanced engineering, leveraging the city’s deep pool of highly skilled engineering talent. The expansion represents a strategic vote of confidence in India as a long-term partner for future-ready innovation and growth.
