The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today inaugurated the two-day GCC Summit 2025 in New Delhi, an initiative poised to empower and redefine the landscape of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India.
The summit, themed ‘From Ledgers to Global Leadership,’ was officially opened by CA. Mahaveer Singhvi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of of India. He was joined by prominent ICAI figures, including the President, Charanjot Singh Nanda, and Vice President CA. Prasanna Kumar D. emphasized the strategic importance of this event.
Discussions at the summit are centered on fostering innovation and providing actionable insights to propel the growth of India’s booming GCC sector. Speakers underscored the transformative impact of GCCs on the nation’s service economy, highlighting the pivotal role of Chartered Accountants in crafting global strategies. The sector is on a trajectory to surpass USD 100 billion by 2030, with projections of an additional 2,000 GCCs and 2.5 million new jobs.
Day one of the summit delved into critical areas such as India’s policy framework for GCCs, the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, and the evolving responsibilities of Chartered Accountants. Parallel sessions explored the application of AI tools, branding strategies, and talent acquisition in the GCC space. The second day is set to focus on technology adoption, future-ready skill development, and achieving regulatory excellence.
Following this inaugural event, ICAI plans a nationwide GCC Summit Series, with future gatherings scheduled in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, aiming to further engage global stakeholders and industry leaders.
