HCA Healthcare, one of the leading U.S. healthcare networks, has chosen Hyderabad as the home for its first Global Capability Center (GCC) in India. The company announced an investment plan of $75 million through 2025 and is preparing to build a workforce of nearly 3,000 professionals across functions such as technology, supply chain, finance, and human resources.
The new hub will strengthen HCA’s ability to support its hospitals in the United States and the United Kingdom by driving technology solutions, operational efficiencies, and digital transformation initiatives from India.
This development reflects a larger trend: multinational healthcare and life sciences companies increasingly view India not only as a cost-effective base but also as a center for innovation and specialized talent. Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a hub for global capability centers makes it a natural choice.
For India, HCA’s entry means thousands of new jobs, opportunities to advance healthcare analytics and digital operations, and greater visibility on the world stage as a trusted health-tech partner. Still, the company will need to navigate data security, regulatory compliance, and global quality standards as it scales operations.
By setting up its first GCC in India, HCA Healthcare signals that the future of healthcare delivery will be shaped as much by strategic capability centers as by hospitals and clinics themselves.
