Lennox India has committed $6 million to significantly expand its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai, a move announced on February 11, 2025. This expansion will increase the facility’s footprint to 150,000 square feet, enabling Lennox to increase staffing from 900 to 1,500 employees.
According to Prakash Bedapudi, Executive Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer, this investment reflects Lennox’s long-term commitment to India, with a cumulative investment of $14 million over the past 15 years. He emphasised Chennai’s skilled talent pool, dynamic business ecosystem, and alignment with the company’s innovation-driven mission.
The expanded GCC boasts numerous enhanced amenities designed to support global operations and employee well-being: modern collaborative workspaces, larger Controls & IT labs, a gym, play area, privacy pods, recharge rooms, a mother-care room, and dedicated training facilities.
Established in 2010, the Chennai centre has grown from a technology-focused unit to a multifunctional hub, now supporting functions such as finance, marketing communications, HR, legal, customer experience, and sourcing. This expansion further bolsters Lennox’s global operational capabilities while leveraging Tamil Nadu’s favorable policies, strong infrastructure, and inclusive work culture.
